  1. Get 3 Bangda(mackerel)
  2. Prepare 1 tsp turmeric powder
  3. Take 2 tsp Red chilli powder
  4. Make ready as per taste Salt
  5. Prepare 1/2 Lemon
  6. Prepare 3 tsp gram flour
  7. Make ready 1 tbsp Suji
  8. Prepare 3-4 Kokum
  9. Take 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  10. Take as required Oil for frying

Once the pan is smoking hot, add the mackerel to the frying pan, skin-side down. This fish fry recipe uses mackerel. When you buy the fish, ask the fish seller to remove the guts but not cut the fish into pieces. Roll the fish in rice powder and shallow fry in small batches, without overcrowding the pan, for two to three minutes.

Instructions to make Bangda(mackerel)fry:
  1. Wash mackerel and deep cut on both sides,add juice of half lemon salt,1/2 tsp turmeric and 1 tsp red chilli powder and marinate half an hour. Soak kokum in Luke warm water for 15 minutes(3 to 4 tbsp water).
  2. Take a bowl add kokum water and mash the kokum in it, add gram flour, suji,1/2 tsp turmeric,1 tsp red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, salt and make a thick batter, if required add little water. Add marinated fish and again marinate 30 to 60 minutes
  3. Take a pan add oil, heat oil on medium flame, fry mackerel on both the side, bangda fish is ready to serve, serve it some lemon

The Mackerels need to be cleaned, the heads chopped, fins cut and the gut removed.
