- Place a pot of oil on the fire and let it get hot then roll the fish in the seasoned flour before placing it gently into the hot oil. Once fried, remove from the oil and let cool for a little bit before serving.

This tasty fried fish recipe is made with a basic combination of flour and seasonings, but don't be fooled by the simplicity of this dish—the fillets fry up crispy and delicious. Haddock and cod are two excellent choices for fried fish, but tilapia , pollock , or another mild white fish should work fine. A flour coating works to seal the outside of the fish, keeping the tender insides together in the process. Cooking times for pan-frying fish fillets are approximate and depend on their thickness.
