- Take 2 . Moong dal - 1/2 cup

The first time I cooked foxtail millet, I did it the way I do the basic rice - boiled in plain water, unsalted, served with dal and vegetables. To begin making the Foxtail Millet Podi Dosa Recipe, we will first rinse all the ingredients and soak the millet, rice together in a bowl and the urad dal and fenugreek seeds in another bowl. Grind urad dal and fenugreek seeds in a mixer grinder to make it to a smooth and fluffy. - Dry roast the dal for a minute or until fragrant comes out.

- Add salt and 1 tbsp of ghee. Let them cook until done in pressure cooker. You can cook upto 5 to 6 whistles like rice. Open the cooker after the pressure release. Mash this with masher
- Heat small kadai add ghee. Once ghee melted add all the ingredients under the topic "To Temper" one by one.
- When cashews changes to golden colour add this to mashed millet and mix thoroughly. Serve hot with any chutney dip or any gravy as you wish.
The seeds are convex oval or elliptical and light yellow to brown, rusty. Foxtail Millet is know as Kangni in Hindi, Thinai in Tamil, Korra in Telugu, Navane in Kannada and Thina in Malayalam. It is a variety of millet. I have used foxtail millet known as korra biyyam in telugu & thinai arisi in tamil. You can use any other millet like kodo millet (varagu), barnyard millet or little millet (sama).
