  2. Remove water from soaked varagarisi and moongdhal.
  3. In a pressure cooker add soaked varagarisi, moongdhal, one teaspoon salt and 4 cups water.
  4. Pressure cook it for 4 whistles.
  5. In a kadai heat 4 table spoon ghee.
  6. Add jeera, coarsly powdered pepper, cashew nuts, Curry leaves. Fry them.
  7. Add fried things to ven pongal.
  8. Serve with coconut chutney, moong dhal sambar.
